Emily Rosenfeld
After graduating with a degree in English in 1988, Emily Rosenfeld began working for production jewelers Lewis and Hubener. Two years later, Rosenfeld knew she wanted to earn her living with her hands and her eye for design. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, took several workshops, and began making her own line of jewelry in 1991. For the next two years, she ran her business in Oakland out of a Murphy bed closet. Since then, she has lived again in New Paltz, New York, and has now settled in Western Massachusetts. With a view of birch trees and a river, her studio is in a converted factory building filled with other artists.
“I feel continually inspired to develop new designs and play with new materials and techniques,” Rosenfeld says. “I am privileged and thankful to be part of the immensely supportive and loving community of craftspeople and crafts buyers. Making my work makes me very happy! I hope owning it brings a measure of joy to you as well.”
