Designing the Silver Fox Home: Start with the Art to Build a ‘Soulful’
Home
The soul of a home, we believe, is found in the art. And so we begin
the process of building a ‘soulful’ home by following these steps:
Step 1. Choose a place that exudes both peacefulness and
playfulness. A serene, wooded lot at Bright’s Creek with a nurturing
view and a walkable hillside is our choice.
Step 2. Select house plans that fit the land. A well designed house is
a large sculptural object, with beauty of form and material. Our
selection is a design by architect Ed Kriskywicz that we will call the
‘Silver Fox Retreat.’
Step 3. Start with the art. Find the primary piece of artwork that speaks
to your soul. This painting will define the home and will be the focal
point; the art will provide all the guidance you need for the colors,
materials, furniture and accessories.
