‘Blue Ridge Autumn’ Opens Saturday, October 25 with a Reception for Artist Tim Howe
Editor’s Note: Artist Tim Howe and the Silver Fox Gallery will donate 10% of each Howe painting sold between October 24 and November 30 to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation (www.brpfoundation.org). The foundation provides critical support beyond federal budgets to assure that the traditions and beauty of the Parkway can be forever realized and shared.
An exhibit of new work by artist Tim Howe, titled ‘Blue Ridge Autumn,’ opens Saturday, October 25 with a reception for the artist from 5 to 7 p.m. at Silver Fox Gallery.
Most of the paintings in the exhibit are inspired by Howe’s visit here a year ago, when he toured Bright’s Creek and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A landscape artist, Howe is inspired to paint what he sees in nature. In the Blue Ridge, he was struck by the intensity and range of colors, and by vastness of the mountains, viewable from high vistas along the parkway. “I saw the forest from a new perspective,” Howe said. The result is fabulous new work like this painting (left).
Attend this opening to see Howe’s new work, meet the artist and also to hear a brief presentation about the efforts of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
